Poonch, August 26 (KIP)-Launching a scathing attack on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and the NC-led government, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu & Kashmir President Sat Sharma slammed the CM for ignoring the gravity of the sufferings of the people during this critical hour.
Sat Sharma said that while Jammu and Kashmir reels under the devastating impact of rains and floods, the Chief Minister has remained absent from the ground and indifferent to the agony of the common masses. He said that the conduct of CM Omar Abdullah has made it clear that he has no concern for the plight of the public, who continue to battle hardships without government support. He added that all the public representatives and the administration have to be on their toes till every single resident of Jammu & Kashmir is marked safe.
“It is shocking and shameful that in such a grave situation, the head of the state has chosen to stay elusive. The people of both Jammu and Kashmir regions expected their Chief Minister to lead from the front in rescue and relief operations, but instead, his half-hearted and symbolic appearances and out of the corner statements have only been aimed at filling formalities. This is a criminal neglect of duty and a betrayal of the distressed population,” Sat Sharma stated.
Sat Sharma said that this while he, along with BJP General Secretary (Organization) Ashok Koul, conducted a series of organizational meetings in Poonch to review the party’s activities and strengthen its grassroots connect. The meetings were attended by senior leaders and the district team led by District President Gurdeep Singh Khalsa.
Addressing the party cadre, Sat Sharma urged the activists to remain constantly engaged with the public and ensure that every welfare scheme launched by the Modi government reaches the deserving beneficiaries. He said the BJP’s strength lies in its cadre-based approach and its commitment to stand shoulder to shoulder with the people in every circumstance.
Ashok Koul emphasized that organizational growth must go hand-in-hand with public service. He called upon the district team to expand outreach programmes, strengthen booth-level activities, and increase mass participation in the party’s initiatives. He stressed that the BJP’s vision for Jammu & Kashmir is rooted in inclusive development and service to society, and every activist must work tirelessly towards this mission.
