Police provide frontline assistance to citizens in Kulgam

Srinagar, August 28 (KIP)-In view of the continuous adverse weather conditions, Police in Kulgam, in close coordination with the District Administration, has launched a comprehensive response mechanism to ensure the safety, mobility, and well-being of residents.
Police teams under close supervision of SSP Kulgam have been deployed across the district to respond to rain-related challenges in scenario wherein stranded civilians, especially in low-lying and waterlogged areas need evacuation, coordinating with civil departments.
J&K Police urges the general Public to avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rainfall, report waterlogging, fallen trees, or electric hazards to the nearest Police station, Police Control Room or dial-112 and cooperate with field staff and follow advisories issued by official authorities.
J&K Police remains committed to serving the citizens with dedication during challenging weather conditions and will continue to provide all possible assistance to the citizens to ensure their safety.
Police seizes 13 vehicles involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals
Srinagar, August 28 (KIP)- In continuation of its ongoing drive against illegal mining, Police in Handwara alongwith Geology & Mining Department seized 13 vehicles (05 Tippers and 08 Tractors) involved in the illegal extraction/transportation of minerals.
These vehicles were illegally involved in transportation of mineral and were seized accordingly. This proactive approach to curb illegal mining has been actively taken up by Police and Geology & Mining Department, thereby ensuring the individuals involved in such illegal activities are legally prosecuted. These seizures highlight the commitment of J&K Police towards acting tough against these violators.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding illegal mining activities in their neighbourhood. J&K Police assures strict action against the violators as per law.
