Jammu, August 30 (KIP)-Pawan Sharma, BJP Senior Leader and State Secretary of Jammu & Kashmir, has expressed deep concern over the emerging public health risks in the aftermath of the recent floods in various parts of the Union Territory.
Sharma emphasized that in addition to the heavy loss of life and property, the floods have disrupted healthcare infrastructure, leaving thousands of affected families vulnerable to health challenges such as water-borne diseases, infections, and lack of emergency medical care.
“Keeping in view the post-flood public health risks, the government must immediately direct the Health Department to ensure full restoration of medical services in all flood-affected areas. Adequate medical teams, mobile health units, essential medicines, and emergency response mechanisms should be deployed without delay,” Sharma said.
He further urged the administration to conduct health camps, provide safe drinking water, and launch a preventive awareness drive to safeguard the lives of people, particularly children, elderly citizens, and those with chronic illnesses.
While appreciating the ongoing relief and rescue measures, Sharma stressed that timely medical intervention is crucial to prevent a possible outbreak of diseases in the affected regions. He assured that the BJP stands shoulder to shoulder with the people of Jammu & Kashmir during this difficult time and will continue to raise their concerns at every platform.
