Health Department Doda organises Medical Camps as part of public outreach programme

Doda, September 15 (KIP)-As part of the Public Outreach Programme and on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner and Director Health Services Jammu, the Health Department under the guidance of Chief Medical Officer Doda, Dr. Om Kumar, organized a series of medical camps in Doda district, today.

The camps were held at Village Dashnan and Bagairni under the supervision of Block Medical Officer Ghat, Dr. Abdul Gafoor Ahmed.

At Dashnan, the medical camp was attended by around 60 patients who were screened and treated by the health team comprising Dr. Younas Saleem (MLHP), Nusrat Aaliya (FMPHW) and the local ASHAs of the area.

Similarly, a medical camp was held at Bagairni where nearly 50 patients were examined by the RBSK team including Dr. Touseef Aslam and Dr. Nusrat Mumtaz.

The Patients were provided free medicines and Oral Rehydration Solutions (ORS) and imparted awareness on health, hygiene and prevention of water-borne diseases.

The initiative aimed to bring healthcare services to the doorstep of people living in far-flung areas and to spread awareness regarding preventive health measures.

Special sessions were held to familiarize the students with anti-ragging guidelines, grievances redressal mechanisms and facilities such as laboratories, ICT-enabled classrooms, sports and cultural activities.

The Coordinators of different Committees and Clubs motivated the students to actively participate in academic and extension activities.

All Deans of the College, Dr Ritu Mangotra (Dean Humanities), Dr Sanjeet Kour (Dean Sciences), Dr Alpana (Dean Research), Prof Samta Sharma (Dean Social Sciences) and Dr Sunita Raina (Dean Commerce) coordinated the Induction Programme-2025 under the supervision of the overall coordinator of Prof. Anjali Abrol (Dean Academic Affairs).

The programme concluded with an interactive session, where students shared their aspirations and received guidance from teachers. The event proved to be highly informative and inspiring, ensuring that the freshers feel confident, comfortable and motivated to begin their new academic journey.
