IUST Organizes Program on Data Science in Clinical Health

Awantipora, September 17 (KIP)- The Department of Mathematical Sciences, Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST), hosted a program on “Harnessing Data Science in Clinical Health: Statistical Approaches for Longitudinal Data” under its Alumni Connect Program. During the program, a lecture was delivered by Dr. Ishfaq Ahmad Shah, an alumnus of the department and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Toronto, Canada.

Dr. Shah shared insights on the use of advanced statistical methods in clinical health, particularly in analyzing longitudinal data such as diet and microbiome studies for early disease detection. He emphasized the interdisciplinary role of Mathematics and Data Science in addressing health challenges Dr. Peer Bilal Ahmad, Head of the Department, said that alumni interactions enrich the academic environment and inspire students by showcasing global research opportunities. As part of the program, a discussion was also held that witnessed active participation from the students and researchers.
