J&K Police Organizes ‘Run for Unity’ events in Kashmir valley

Srinagar, September 30 (KIP)-As part of the commemoration of the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Police organised “Run for Unity” events under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) in Awantipora, Budgam, Sopore, Kulgam and Shopian.

In Awantipora, ‘Run for unity’ event was flagged off by SDPO Awantipora Shri Raja Majid-JKPS alongwith SHO PS Awantipora from Main Chowk Awantipora to DPL Awantipora Crossing. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of students of different schools of Awantipora area. The first three winners were presented with mementos and appreciation certificates. Besides, debate competition was organised at Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School Tral in which large number of students participated, and first three winners were awarded with mementos and appreciation certificates by SDPO Tral Shri Rajesh Kumar along with SHO PS Tral.

In Shopian, the ‘Run’ was flagged off by DySP Hqrs Shopian Shri Imtiyaz Ahmad-JKPS and DySP PC Imamshab Shri Fasial Hussain-JKPS from Borihallan to Police Station Shopian. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of students from various schools. All SHO’s of the district also participated in the rally, adding further zeal to the occasion. Participants were felicitated by ASP Shopian Shri Rameez Rashid Bhat-JKPS with cash rewards, certificates and mementos.

In Budgam, the run started from Sunpah Chowk Beerwah to Townhall Beerwah & saw enthusiastic participation of students, teachers, and locals. The event was flagged off by SHO PS Beerwah, and participants were felicitated with certificates, mementos, and cash rewards for encouragement.

In Sopore, police organised ‘Run for Unity event at Bomai, Sopore. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from people of all walks of life, including students, teachers, youth, and elders. Participants ran together to spread the message of peace, national integration, and the values of unity and pride championed by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

In Kulgam, police organised ‘Run for Unity’ at Qazigund and Qaimoh, flagged off by Addl. SP NHW Shri Mumtaz Ali Bhatti, DySP (Prob) Shri Farhan Khawaja, and SHO Qazigund & SHO Qaimoh. Speaking on the occasion, Addl. SP NHW highlighted the importance of unity and discipline in nation-building and urged students to focus on education, sports, and constructive activities while keeping themselves away from anti-national and anti-social tendencies. The programme witnessed an overwhelming response, with large participation from students, youth, and police personnel.

J&K Police lauded the efforts of the participants and reiterated its commitment to promoting unity, integrity and patriotism in line with the legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
