Jammu, October 02 (KIP)- Congress has fully supported the demand of entire Ladakh people for high-level judicial probe into the mishandling of the situation and the firing incident killing four persons .
Working President Shri Raman Bhalla has lashed out at the centre and UT administration for mishandling of the situation in Leh causing great resentment and anger amongst people of entire Ladakh region and supported high level probe as demanded by both Apex and KDA .The peaceful region of Ladakh having strategic importance for the nation has been pushed into turmoil by the BJP due to total mishandling,he added.
He said people of Ladakh were promised the 6th schedule by the BJP and centre five years ago, like statehood to J&K. But the centre betrayed both Ladakh UT and J&K people after getting a complete mandate on false promises. Centre should fulfill the genuine demands of both UTs without further delay.
Shri Bhalla was interacting with the inhabitants of areas of Greater Kailash in Jammu regarding the brewing resentment and concern of the people over the approach of the centre government.
He also reacted to the unwarranted and irresponsible remarks of LT Governor of Ladakh UT blaming the Nepalese and residents of Doda behind Leh violence and said that it was in bad taste. Even if anyone is found involved in ugly incident individually, should not be referred to in the manner, he has done, sending wrong signals.
Nepal and Nepalese had been friends of our country for centuries, and the Gorkhas are known for their honesty, loyalty, and bravery & have fought in the Indian Armed Forces, gave sacrifices defending our borders. They are engaged & preferred in private security duties for their qualities of loyalty, sincerity, and bravery.
Millions of Nepalese work in our country, and similarly, millions of Indians work in Nepal ,without any incident of discrimination and enemosity on the basis of origin.
Even in the recent turmoil in Nepal, no Indian was harmed or suffered.
Ant criminal act is an act of individual or individuals involved and can't be attributed to any region, religion, or community in the circumstances in which the incident happened.
The LG should have taken due caution in his address keeping in view its several connotations and our friendly relations with the neighbouring country and the well being of lakhs of our countrymen working there. Although law should take its own course against any individuals found involved in any violence.
Bhalla also took stock of the problems faced by the people in different localities due to lack of urgent repairs and restorations after the devastated floods and rains and blamed the lack of comprehensive package from Centre and dual control system in J&K ,as reasons behind delay in rehabilitation measures.
The 28 BJP MLAs and MPs should impress upon their government at the center to fulfill it's promise and restore statehood without delay, as dual system is hurdle in speedy relief, rehabilitation and restoration works.
