CEC LAHDC Kargil Visits Leh to Express Solidarity with Victims and Martyrs

Leh, October 03 (Scoop News)-Chairman/Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, visited SNM Hospital Leh to inquire about the health condition of those injured and admitted following the unfortunate incident during the protest on September 24 in Leh.
The Hon’ble CEC was received by the Medical Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent, and attending doctors. He took a detailed account of the medical care being provided to the injured and conveyed heartfelt wishes for their speedy recovery. He thanked the doctors and medical staff from the bottom of his heart for their timely intervention and effective treatment, and assured them of full support from LAHDC Kargil in all possible ways. It was also informed that several patients have been referred to SKIMS Soura, Srinagar for advanced treatment.
Following this, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon visited the bereaved families of the four martyrs who lost their lives during the September 24 protest. He offered tributes and extended his deepest condolences on behalf of LAHDC Kargil, the Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA), particularly conveying the message of solidarity from Co-Chairman KDA and former Cabinet Minister of erstwhile J&K, Janab Qamar Ali Akhoon. He assured the families that KDA, and LAHDC Kargil firmly stand with them and the people of Ladakh in this difficult time.
Later, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon also visited the jail in Leh, where several protesters, including LAHDC Leh Councillors, Numbardars, and local residents, are currently detained. He interacted with them and assured that every effort will be made to take their grievances to the higher levels of government, while pressing for a fair and impartial judicial inquiry.
The Hon’ble CEC assured his full support in ensuring justice for the martyrs, injured, and detained protesters. He emphasised that a fair and impartial judicial enquiry into the September 24 incident is essential, and mentioned that along with the Hon’ble MP Ladakh and KDA members, the issue has already been raised in New Delhi while appealing to the Union Government for a time-bound judicial enquiry. He further reaffirmed that LAHDC Kargil and KDA, together with Apex Body Leh, will continue their struggle to achieve the four-point agenda representing the aspirations of the entire Ladakh.
