SDPO (DySP) Zakura, Ashiq Hussain said “Drug abuse is one of the biggest challenges faced by our society today. It not only destroys the life of the individual but also deeply impacts their family and our society. Our youth should focus on education, sports and skill development instead of falling into this trap. Together, with awareness and community support, we can defeat this menace. The law under NDPS Act and BNS is very strict against peddlers and if citizens cooperate and provide timely information, we can ensure that such criminals are booked and given strong punishment.”
SHO Zakura Police Station, Khursheed Reshi said “The police alone cannot eradicate the problem of drugs. We need the cooperation of parents, teachers and the community. Students should remember that drugs only bring pain and destruction, while sports, education and discipline build a successful future.”
Chairman, CET, Showkat Chowdhary said “We strongly believe in guiding the younger generation towards positivity and growth. Our message to students is clear “say no to drugs, and yes to knowledge, creativity, and sports”. Your energy must be used to shape a better tomorrow.”
Principal, IDPS, Ms. Daisy Sharma said “Schools play a vital role in shaping the character of students. Through such awareness programs, we aim to prepare our students to make wise choices in life. Officials underlined that the law provides clear measures to book offenders and citizens must cooperate with the police by reporting any suspicious activities. This cooperation will help ensure that peddlers are caught, punished and the youth are protected.
Speakers stressed that every citizen has a duty to play an active role in building a drug-free society. Teachers, students and community members must stay alert, guide the youth and immediately report drug-related activities to the police. Collective vigilance will help save the future generation.
The program concluded with a pledge by students and teachers to spread awareness about drug abuse and to promote sports, education and healthy living as an alternative path.
