Kunzes Angmo chairs review meeting on the physical and financial progress of Mission Shakti

Leh ,October 16 (KIP)-The Director, Social & Tribal Welfare Department, UT Ladakh, and Mission Vatsalya at the Directorate of Social & Tribal Welfare Office, Leh.
The Chairperson of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Kargil; the Protection Officer (Non-Institutional Care), Leh; and the District Coordinators of the Hub for Empowerment of Women (HEW) from Leh and Kargil presented detailed reports on the initiatives and activities undertaken under both missions. They highlighted the implementation of various child welfare programmes, sponsorship and foster care initiatives, support systems for children in need of care and protection, and welfare measures for children in conflict with the law.
Under Mission Shakti, the discussion covered initiatives such as Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP), Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), Hub for Empowerment of Women (HEW), One Stop Centres (OSC), Women Helpline, and Anganwadi-cum-Creches.
The financial status and utilization of funds under different components were also reviewed in detail. The Director emphasized the importance of regular monitoring, follow-up assessments, and data-driven interventions to ensure effective and targeted support for women and children. She also underscored the need for interdepartmental coordination and active community participation to improve service delivery in remote areas.
The meeting was attended by key officials and stakeholders, including DPOs Leh and Kargil, Samina Khaton (JKAS), DCPO Kargil, Thinlas Dorjay, TSWO Leh, and other key officials of Mission Vatsalya and Mission Shakti.
