CUKashmir’s DTS holds extension lecture

Ganderbal, November 06 (KIP)-Department of Tourism Studies (DTS), Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir) organized an extension lecture on “Rural Tourism: A Paradigm Shift,” at Green campus here.
In his welcome address, Dr. Ashaq Hussain Najar, Coordinator/Sr.Asst Prof.
highlighted the importance of holding extension lectures on a regular basis so that the student gets benefited.
The expert, Dr. Saurab Krishna from Institute of Hotel Management-Aurangabad, highlighted the potential of rural tourism of India. “The Government of India is also making different policies to promote rural tourism and above all the drift of people from urban to rural areas to minimize the routine rush, hustle and bustle, pollution of the urban areas,” he said. The expert highlighted successful case studies of rural tourism innovative products and immense untapped potential of rural tourism in the field of entrepreneurship in the country.
A question/answer session was held after the lecture. Dr. Abid Suhail Nika, Asst Prof. conducted the event and Dr. Shahnaz Akhter, Sr. Asst Prof. presented vote of thanks
