Jammu, November 18 (KIP)-A delegation of The Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India (ASSOCHAM), J&K Chapter, today called on Dr. Arun Manhas, Director Industries & Commerce, Jammu, to Suggests measures to improve business in Jammu region.
The delegation was led by Manik Batra, Chairman, ASSOCHAM J&K Council, and Bhupesh Gupta, Co-Chairman. Bhisham Batra, Kshitij Agarwal and Amit Khajuria were also part of the meeting.
During the interaction, the ASSOCHAM delegation apprised Dr. Manhas regarding slow down in commercial activities in Jammu due to factors such as the region’s landlocked geography and limited growth opportunities. The delegation stressed the need for a comprehensive policy intervention to revive and support the business ecosystem of Jammu.

ASSOCHAM also submitted a detailed representation outlining key suggestions, including simplifying the Change of Land Use (CLU) procedure, establishing additional warehouses, providing freight subsidy, enabling conversion of leasehold to freehold, and promoting infrastructure and commercial projects under the J&K Industrial Incentive framework.
Dr. Manhas assured the delegation that the issues raised would be taken up at the appropriate levels and reiterated the government’s commitment to protecting and expanding existing industries and businesses in Jammu.
