DC Budgam reviews arrangements for Observance of 350th Shaheedi Shatabdi of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji

Budgam,November 23 (KIP)-Deputy commissioner (DC) Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, today visited Heewuder, Budgam to review the preparations and on-ground arrangements for the observance of the 350th Shaheedi Shatabdi of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, the ninth Sikh Guru revered worldwide for his unparalleled sacrifice for the protection of faith, humanity and universal rights.

During the visit, the DC inspected the venue where the commemorative programmes are scheduled to be held, and reviewed the arrangements put in place by district authorities in coordination with the local Gurudwara Committee and community representatives.

The DC stressed that the observance of the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji holds deep historical, cultural and spiritual significance, and must be facilitated with utmost respect, dignity and preparedness. He directed all concerned departments to ensure adequate arrangements of sanitation, drinking water, electricity, traffic management, medical support, and public facilitation during the commemorative events.

The DC instructed that all basic facilities must remain functional throughout the duration of the observance and that teams be deployed on the ground for continuous monitoring. He emphasised that inter-departmental coordination must remain seamless, particularly between police, civil administration, health, PDD, Jal Shakti, RDD and municipal authorities.

The DC underscored the need for smooth traffic regulation and crowd management, given the expected participation of devotees and community members from various areas.

While highlighting the legacy of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, the DC stated that Budgam district stands committed to ensuring that the 350th Shaheedi Shatabdi is observed in a peaceful, orderly and respectful manner befitting the occasion.

The DC also interacted with the local Gurudwara management committee and assured full support from the district administration for successful conduct of the event. He instructed officers to maintain close coordination with community representatives to address any additional requirements that may arise.

The Sikh Welfare Committee’s lauded the District Administration for extending all necessary support and ensuring timely arrangements for the smooth observance of the 350th Shaheedi Shatabdi of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji.”

The DC was accompanied by senior district officers including representatives from Revenue, Police, Health, Jal Shakti, PDD, Municipal Committee and other concerned departments.
