DLSA Kargil celebrates Constitution Day

Kargil, November 26 (KIP)-District Legal Services Authority Kargil celebrated Constitution Day today on 26th of November, 2025 at Conference Hall, Baroo. The programme was chaired by Principal District & Session Judge Kargil / Chairman DLSA Kargil Mr. Sheikh Gowher Hussain, and attended by Secretary DLSA Kargil, Mr Chemit Yurgyal, President Bar Member, Mr. Reyaz Ahmed Khan, Panel Lawyers, Bar Members, APP District Court Kargil, Deputy Chief LADC Adv Zarina Banoo, Assistant LADC Adv Nissar Hussain, District court Staff Members and Para Legal Volunteers.
The programme commenced by Preamble reading Session in which Mr. Chemit Yurgyal Secretary DLSA read the Preamble of the Constitution.
Mr. Sheikh Gohar Hussain Principal District & Session Judge Kargil / Chairman DLSA Kargil, in his address spoke about the importance of the day in delivering justice to marginalized section of the society and to have equal access to justice as per the Constitution. He also discussed upon the various provisions imbibed in our constitution which ensures equality.
Mr. Chemit Yurgyal, Secretary DLSA Kargil spoke on the historical background of the Constitution Day and also stressed on the importance of the Fundamental Duties and on this occasion asked the participants to pledge to uphold the values enshrined in our constitution in our daily life.
President Bar Member Mr. Reyaz Ahmed Khan stressed upholding and protecting India’s Sovereignty, unity and integrity and the ideals and institutions included in the Constitution. He also highlighted the salient features of the Indian Constitution, the essence of which is enshrined in its preamble.
Vote of thanks was presented by Advocate Asgar Ali Yarkain, Panel lawyer and thanked the DLSA for organising this important event, he also thanked the administration for providing the venue and the media persons present on the event.
The District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), Leh, in collaboration with local communities, has inaugurated a 14-day skill development training programme on felting toys in Skurbuchan and Achinathang villages.
The training aims to empower women by equipping them with traditional and contemporary felting techniques, promoting self-reliance and entrepreneurial opportunities through handicraft production.
During the inaugural session, various schemes under Mission Shakti – the Government of India’s integrated women empowerment programme – were explained in detail to the participants and villagers. These include initiatives for safety, security, and economic empowerment of women.
Ms. Farhana Nazir, Project Coordinator, Child Helpline (CHL), also briefed the gathering on critical support services, including:

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from women across the villages, reflecting strong community support for women-led development initiatives in the region.
