Srinagar, December 12 (KIP)- J&K Police in coordination with the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD), conducted a special drive across the district Ganderbal to check vehicles bearing outside UT registration numbers that continue to ply in Jammu & Kashmir without mandatory transfer of ownership and registration.
During the drive, multiple checking naka points were established at key locations across Ganderbal. The joint teams thoroughly inspected vehicles to ensure compliance with transfer norms and other statutory requirements. Strict action was initiated against owners and drivers found violating the Motor Vehicles Act, including plying non-transferred vehicles, lack of valid documents, and other traffic-related violations. J&K Police emphasized that such drives are aimed at ensuring road safety, preventing misuse of vehicles with outside registrations, and enforcing strict adherence to legal provisions. Such similar drives will continue in the coming days to maintain discipline on roads and ensure compliance with all motor vehicle rules.
J&K Police appeals to the general public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and complete all necessary formalities related to vehicle registration and transfer in time. Citizens have also been urged to follow traffic norms to avoid legal action.
