DGPC Jammu and JKAACL Organize One-Day Seminar on Safar-e-Shahadat of Chaar Sahibzadas

Jammu,December 25 (KIP)- The District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (DGPC), Jammu, in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL), today organized a One-Day Seminar on the theme “Safar-e-Shahadat of Chaar Sahibzadey” at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu.

The seminar paid solemn homage to the unparalleled martyrdom, courage, and unwavering faith of the Chaar Sahibzadas of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The deliberations powerfully underscored the timeless values of sacrifice, righteousness, and steadfast commitment to truth, with a special focus on inspiring the younger generation to imbibe these eternal ideals.

Eminent scholars including Dr. Sewak Singh (Anandpur Sahib), Dr. Harjodh Singh (Patiala), Professor, Department of Punjab University, Patiala and Former Head, Bhai Vir Singh Chair, and Dr. Simran Singh delivered insightful addresses. The speakers elaborated on the historical, spiritual, and moral significance of the Shahadat of the Chaar Sahibzadas, offering profound perspectives on Sikh history and its relevance in contemporary times.

Shri Brij Mohan Sharma, Principal Secretary, Department of Culture, Government of Jammu & Kashmir, graced the occasion as the Special Guest. In his address, he paid glowing tributes to the Chaar Sahibzadey and stated that their martyrdom remains a beacon of inspiration for humanity, particularly for the youth, to uphold justice, courage, and moral integrity in all walks of life.

As part of the programme, an animated film depicting the heroic Safar-e-Shahadat of the Chaar Sahibzadey was screened, which deeply moved the audience and effectively conveyed the spirit of sacrifice and valour to the younger generation. A special exhibition of JKAACL publications was also organized, highlighting the Academy’s rich literary and cultural heritage.

Shri Balwinder Singh, Vice President, DGPC Jammu, extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries, scholars, and members of the Sangat, and later expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participants and organizers for making the event meaningful and impactful.

The programme witnessed the participation of a large number of devotees, scholars, and eminent Sikh personalities. S. Surjit Singh, General Secretary, DGPC Jammu, played a pivotal role in the smooth conduct of the programme by efficiently anchoring and coordinating the proceedings.

The vote of thanks for the first session was presented by Shri Popinder Singh Paras, Senior Editor, Sheeraza Punjabi. Smt. Harvinder Kour, Secretary, JKAACL, was also present on the occasion.

The seminar concluded with a renewed collective resolve to spread awareness, especially among the youth, about the unparalleled sacrifice of the Chaar Sahibzadey and to uphold the eternal values enshrined in their Safar-e-Shahadat.
