IUST Organizes Plantation Drive at Charar-i-Sharief

Awantipora, March 29 (KIP)-In continuation of Plantation Week celebrations, the Islamic University of Science & Technology organized a plantation drive at Alamdar Memorial College of Nursing & Medical Technology under the theme Donate, Plant or Own a Tree.

The programme was conducted in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Forest Department (DFO Budgam) and supported by the Dean Outreach Office, IUST. The drive witnessed active participation from the college administration, faculty, students, and officials from both IUST and the Forest Department.

The initiative aimed at enhancing green cover, promoting biodiversity conservation, and contributing to campus beautification. It also aligns with the broader objectives of the Green India Mission and reflects the ecological ethos inspired by the teachings of Sheikh Noor-ud-din Wali, popularly known as Alamdar-e-Kashmir.

The plantation week inaugurated by Prof. Abdul Wahid Makhdoomi, Registrar, IUST is being coordinated by Dr. Aijaz Ahmad Qureshi, Assistant Registrar (Landscaping), along with the landscaping team.=
