Financial Inclusion Saturation Campaign Launched in Leh

Leh, June 15 (KIP)- As part of the month-long Financial Inclusion Saturation Campaign launched by the Department of Financial Services (DFS), Crisil Foundation, in collaboration with the Lead District Manager (LDM) Office, Leh, conducted a Financial Inclusion Mass Awareness Camp at Phyang, Leh.

The awareness programme was organized to promote the saturation of key financial inclusion schemes and enhance financial literacy among community members. The event was conducted under the supervision of LDM Leh, Mr. Phuntsog Angchuk, and coordinated by the Crisil Foundation team in collaboration with the Ladakh Rural Livelihood Mission (LRLM).

Representatives from several financial institutions and organizations, including State Bank of India (SBI), J&K Bank, India Post Payments Bank (IPPB), NABARD, DMM-LRLM, and Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) representatives, participated in the programme.

Community members actively participated in the day-long event and were sensitized about various financial schemes, products, and services offered by banks and government departments. Detailed presentations were delivered on the importance of social security schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Atal Pension Yojana (APY), KYC/Re-KYC compliance, safe banking practices, and prevention of digital fraud.

Officials from banks and other departments also provided information on various self-employment and livelihood promotion schemes. Participants were advised on maintaining account hygiene, ensuring timely KYC updates, and registering nomination details to safeguard their financial interests.

The programme concluded with an interactive session where participants raised queries related to banking services and financial inclusion schemes, which were addressed by the officials present.
