Chief Secretary reviews progress of TB elimination in UT Ladakh

Leh, July 06 (KIP)- Chief Secretary, UT Ladakh, Ashish Kundra chaired a review meeting to monitor the progress of tuberculosis (TB) elimination initiatives in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
During the meeting, Mission Director, National Health Mission (NHM), Tushar Anand delivered a detailed presentation on the “TB Free Ladakh” initiative. The presentation highlighted the objectives and goals of the programme, mapping of TB cases in Leh and Kargil districts, and district-wise TB indicators.
Discussions were also held on the calculation of the indicator matrix and strategies for strengthening TB surveillance and elimination efforts across the Union Territory.
The Chief Secretary reviewed the progress achieved under the National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP) and directed the concerned officials to strengthen tracking and monitoring mechanisms for TB cases. He also stressed the importance of maintaining a systematic roster and ensuring coordinated efforts among all departments for effective implementation of the programme.
The meeting was attended by Commissioner Secretary, Dr L Franklin; Administrative Secretaries Nidhi Malik, Bhanu Prabha and Himanshu Gupta; Mission Director, NHM; Programme Coordinator, National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP), UT Ladakh; and District Tuberculosis Officers (DTOs) from Leh and Kargil.
