Central Prabhari Officer,Visits Karsha Block, Zanskar

Zanskar, July 16 (KIP)-Ravi Dhawan, IAS, Central Prabhari Officer for Aspirational Block Programme (ABP) Karsha, conducted an official visit to Karsha Block, Zanskar today to review the progress of developmental initiatives being implemented under the Aspirational Block Programme.
Upon his arrival, Sh. Ravi Dhawan, IAS was warmly received by the Deputy Commissioner, Zanskar, Sh. Omkar Rajendra Gundage, IAS, Tehsilder Zanskar, Block Development Officer, along with the Heads of Departments (HoDs) and officers of various line departments associated with ABP Karsha.
During the visit, the Central Prabhari Officer toured various educational institutions, Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMs), and Anganwadi Centres to assess the status of service delivery and public welfare initiatives at the grassroots level. He interacted extensively with school teachers, students, health workers, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, frontline functionaries, and officials from different line departments to gain first-hand insights into the implementation of government programmes and the challenges faced in this remote region.
During the visit to the Anganwadi Centre under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), the Anganwadi Workers and staff showcased a variety of locally available, nutritious food items prepared in accordance with the Supplementary Nutrition Programme (SNP) guidelines. The display highlighted the use of indigenous cereals, pulses, vegetables, dairy products, and other locally sourced ingredients to ensure balanced nutrition for pregnant and lactating women, children, and adolescent girls. Sh. Ravi Dhawan appreciated the initiative of promoting traditional and locally available nutritious foods, emphasizing that such community-based nutritional practices contribute significantly towards improving health and nutritional outcomes in the remote region of Zanskar while preserving local food traditions.
The Prabhari Officer also reviewed the functioning of various line departments, including Rural Development, PHE, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and other departments implementing developmental and welfare schemes under the Aspirational Block Programme. Officers of the respective departments briefed him on the progress of ongoing projects, key performance indicators, achievements and challenges in implementation.
The delegation also held interactions with Village Education Committee (VEC) members, school representatives, and local Nambardar. During these interactions, several developmental issues and local requirements were brought to the notice of the Central Prabhari Officer through written representations. Sh. Ravi Dhawan assured the public that their genuine concerns would be examined sympathetically and that every possible assistance would be extended in coordination with the concerned departments.
At Langmi School, Sh. Ravi Dhawan addressed a gathering comprising students, teachers, parents, school staff, government officials, and community members. In his address, he emphasized the importance of quality education, community participation, and coordinated efforts among all stakeholders for achieving holistic development. He encouraged students to pursue excellence through dedication and discipline while appreciating the commitment of teachers and frontline workers serving in the challenging terrain of Zanskar.
During the visit Sh. Ravi Dhawan appreciated the dedicated efforts of all departmental officers and frontline functionaries working under the leadership and guidance of the Deputy Commissioner, Zanskar, Sh. Omkar Rajendra Gundage, IAS. He commended the district administration for maintaining effective coordination among departments and for ensuring focused implementation of the Aspirational Block Programme despite the geographical and climatic challenges of the region.
He also emphasized effective inter-departmental coordination, timely execution of development works, efficient utilization of government resources, and regular monitoring of flagship schemes. He directed the concerned officers to address infrastructure gaps, ensure timely completion of ongoing projects, and strengthen service delivery so that the benefits of government programmes reach every eligible beneficiaries.
The visit reaffirmed the Government's commitment to strengthening last-mile service delivery, promoting convergence among departments, and accelerating inclusive and sustainable development in Karsha Block under the Aspirational Block Programme
