Jantar Mantar protest exposes opposition's Alliance with Anti-National Elements

and Its Political Agenda: BJP

Jammu, July 25 (KIP)-BJP J&K State Spokesperson Er. Sahil Bashir bhat strongly condemns the developments witnessed at Jantar Mantar, where several opposition leaders chose to share a platform with individuals and groups known for promoting divisive and anti-India narratives. What was presented as a protest on issues relating to the education system was, in reality, transformed into a stage for political propaganda, inflammatory rhetoric, and attempts to create disorder.
The presence of leaders such as Mehbooba Mufti, Mehraj Malik, and other opposition figures on a common platform with elements repeatedly associated with anti-national narratives has once again exposed the opposition's willingness to compromise national interest for political mileage. Such associations are deeply irresponsible and send a dangerous message.

If the protest was genuinely about education, the nation deserves to know why the discourse shifted to slogans and statements such as "We will overthrow Parliament," "This will be Modi's last day," "We will beat Modi," and attacks on religious figures.

What do such slogans have to do with improving the education system? How do chants unrelated to academic reforms, universities, examinations, or students' welfare contribute to any meaningful discussion on education?

The opposition must explain how provocative political rhetoric, ideological campaigns, and divisive slogans are connected with educational reforms or the resignation of the Education Minister. Instead of presenting constructive solutions for strengthening the education system, the platform was used to push a broader political agenda that had little or nothing to do with education.

The BJP firmly believes that peaceful democratic protest is a constitutional right. However, constitutional freedoms cannot be misused to provide legitimacy to individuals or groups who repeatedly seek to weaken India's democratic institutions, promote divisive narratives, or encourage an atmosphere of anarchy and instability.

The events at Jantar Mantar have exposed a disturbing pattern where sections of the opposition appear more interested in forging alliances with controversial and anti-national elements than addressing genuine public concerns. Such politics of opportunism undermines democratic discourse and weakens public trust.

The Bharatiya Janata Party reiterates that the unity, sovereignty, and integrity of India are non-negotiable. We call upon all political parties to reject divisive politics, distance themselves from anti-national elements, and engage in responsible democratic debate focused on the real issues affecting the people of India
