MY Bharat Ladakh Organises Kargil Vijay Diwas Padyatra at Kargil

Hundreds Join to Honour the Bravehearts of the Nation

Kargil, July 26 (KIP)-On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), Ladakh, organised a grand Kargil Vijay Diwas Padyatra at Kargil to commemorate the unmatched courage, sacrifice and patriotism of the Indian Armed Forces during the 1999 Kargil War.

The event was flagged off by Sh. Waseem Ramzan Dar, SDM Sankoo, in the august presence of Sh. Raj Kumar, Principal, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Khumbathang. The padyatra witnessed enthusiastic participation of hundreds of MY Bharat volunteers, civil society members, defence personnel, ex-servicemen, officials and local residents, reflecting the collective spirit of patriotism and national unity.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Sh. Jitendra Sahare, District Youth Officer, Kargil, who highlighted the significance of Kargil Vijay Diwas and urged the youth to draw inspiration from the courage, discipline and selfless service of the armed forces. He emphasised that such programmes strengthen the spirit of nationalism among the younger generation while keeping alive the memories of the nation's heroes.

Thereafter, Sh. Raj Kumar, Principal, JNV Khumbathang, addressed the gathering and stressed the importance of inculcating values of patriotism, discipline and national service among students. He encouraged the youth to honour the sacrifices of the brave soldiers by contributing positively towards nation-building and becoming responsible citizens.

In his address, Sh. Waseem Ramzan Dar, SDM Sankoo, paid rich tributes to the brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice during the Kargil War. He lauded MY Bharat for organising the commemorative event and remarked that Kargil Vijay Diwas serves as a reminder of the courage, determination and unwavering commitment of the Indian Armed Forces in safeguarding the nation's sovereignty. He called upon the youth to remain united and actively participate in the development of the nation with the same spirit of dedication and service.

The programme concluded with remarks by Sh. Khushal Gupta, Deputy Director, MY Bharat Anantnag, who expressed gratitude to the district administration, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, defence personnel, ex-servicemen, volunteers and all stakeholders for their wholehearted support in making the event a success. He emphasised that the legacy of the Kargil heroes continues to inspire every Indian and reaffirmed MY Bharat's commitment to engaging youth in activities that promote patriotism, civic responsibility and national integration.

As a mark of respect and gratitude, ex-servicemen and defence personnel were felicitated for their invaluable service to the nation.

The programme featured the soulful rendition of "Vande Mataram", followed by the singing of the National Anthem, creating an atmosphere of pride and reverence. Thereafter, the SDM Sankoo formally flagged off the padyatra.

The patriotic march proceeded from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Khumbathang, passed alongside the scenic Suru River, and culminated at Saliskot. Throughout the route, participants enthusiastically sang patriotic songs, raised slogans celebrating the nation and the armed forces, and paid homage to the valiant soldiers whose courage ensured India's victory during the Kargil War.

The event concluded with a renewed pledge by all participants to uphold the ideals of unity, patriotism and selfless service, while remembering the supreme sacrifices made by the brave soldiers in defence of the motherland.
