Jammu, August 02 (KIP)-J&K BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma (CA) asserted that border residents and ex-servicemen are among the strongest pillars of India's national security, saying that the Bharatiya Janata Party remains unwavering in its commitment to safeguarding their interests and ensuring their welfare.
Sat Sharma was addressing a meeting of the BJP Border Cell and Ex-Servicemen Cell at the party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.

Sat Sharma said that the people living along the borders and the nation's ex-servicemen have always displayed unmatched patriotism, courage and sacrifice. While border residents stand resolutely against every challenge posed by hostile forces, ex-servicemen continue to serve society with the same discipline and commitment that they displayed while defending the nation. The BJP recognizes their invaluable contribution and will never allow their concerns to be ignored for political convenience, he said.
Sharma highlighted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Central Government has taken unprecedented measures for the welfare of border residents and armed forces personnel through enhanced border infrastructure, improved security arrangements, increased compensation, better rehabilitation measures, the One Rank One Pension (OROP) implementation, and several welfare schemes for veterans and their families. He urged party workers to ensure that every eligible beneficiary receives the benefits of these initiatives.
Ashok Koul reviewed the functioning of both cells and sought detailed reports on their organizational activities, outreach programmes and engagement with their respective communities. He stressed that both cells must work in close coordination with district and mandal units, actively publicize government welfare schemes, and effectively raise issues concerning border residents and ex-servicemen before the appropriate authorities.
Ved Sharma emphasized strengthening the organizational structure of both cells at the district and mandal levels through regular meetings and continuous public outreach. He said the cells have an important responsibility to connect their communities with the party while ensuring that their genuine concerns are effectively represented.
