DIET Leh Concludes Three-Day Jolly Phonics English Training

Leh, August 08 (KIP)-The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Leh, successfully concluded a three-day Jolly Phonics English Training Programme aimed at strengthening foundational English language teaching through a systematic and phonics-based approach.

The training was attended by foundational-level English teachers from the educational zones of Leh, Kharu and Nyoma, who actively participated in the various practical and interactive sessions.

The concluding ceremony was graced by Sh. Sonam Dorje Namgyal, Principal, DIET Leh, as the Chief Guest. The training was facilitated by eminent resource persons Smt. Shenaz Jussa and Smt. Ritu Bawa, who provided participants with practical exposure to phonics, sounds, pronunciation, blending, actions and innovative classroom strategies.

During the valedictory session, participants shared their feedback and expressed their appreciation for the resource persons and the overall conduct of the programme. They particularly appreciated the activity-based methodology and practical demonstrations, which they felt would help make foundational English learning more engaging, effective and child-friendly.

In his concluding remarks, Sh. Sonam Dorje Namgyal, Principal, DIET Leh, appreciated the active participation of the teachers and emphasised the importance of strengthening foundational language skills at the early stages of schooling.

Smt. Tsering Yangdol, HOD, DIET Leh, presented the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to the resource persons, participating teachers and all those associated with the successful organisation of the programme.

The three-day training was coordinated by Sh. Tsering Tundup, Sr. Lecturer, DIET Leh, whose coordination contributed to the smooth and effective conduct of the programme.

The training concluded on a positive note, with the participating teachers expressing their readiness to translate the knowledge and techniques acquired during the programme into meaningful classroom practices.
