Director NIT Srinagar visits key sections, reviews Mega Hostel work

Srinagar, August 20 (KIP)-Director, National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar, Prof. Anurag Misra, on Thursday visited various administrative and academic sections of the Institute and interacted with faculty and staff members.
During his interactions, he took feedback from the staff regarding the functioning of their respective sections and emphasised the importance of coordination, efficiency and timely disposal of work.
The Director also visited the Counselling Cell, where the ongoing undergraduate (UG) admission process is being conducted. He reviewed the arrangements made for students and their parents and interacted with the officials involved in the admission process.
Prof. Misra appreciated the arrangements put in place by Dean Academic Affairs Prof. Bashir Ahmad Mir and his team for ensuring a smooth and systematic admission process. He also appreciated the efforts of the officials and staff engaged in admission-related duties and stressed the importance of providing all possible assistance to students and parents visiting the institute.
The Director also reviewed the ongoing work on the Mega Hostel project. He took an update on the progress of the construction and related works and directed the concerned officials to ensure timely completion of the remaining work.
Prof. Misra stressed that the hostel facility is important for strengthening student infrastructure at the Institute and called for close monitoring of the work to ensure that the project is completed at the earliest.
He also directed the concerned officers to maintain coordination among different agencies and sections involved in the project and ensure that any pending issues are addressed promptly.
Registrar NIT Srinagar Prof. Atikur Rehman and Deputy Registrar (Administration) accompanied the Director during the visit.
Later, Prof. Misra was also briefed about the Institute’s NBA accreditation, NIRF ranking, digital infrastructure and other key institutional initiatives and achievements. He took feedback on the ongoing efforts towards strengthening the institute’s academic, administrative and technological infrastructure.
Earlier Director also planted a sapling on the Institute campus, underlining the importance of environmental sustainability and green initiatives.
