IUST Hosts Workshop on Udyam Jagriti 5.0 under Mission Yuva

IUST Awantipora, August 25 (KIP)-The Centre for Career Counselling and Placement (CCCP), Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) under the aegis of the office of Dean Outreach, organized a workshop on “Udyam Jagriti 5.0 – Mission Yuva” at the University campus. The workshop was organized in collaboration with the District Employment and Career Counselling (DE&CC) Office, Pulwama, aimed at sensitising students about entrepreneurship, innovation and the opportunities available under the Mission Yuva initiative.

The programme was attended by Mushtaq Ahmad Lone, ADC Awantipora; Prof. Parvez A. Mir, Dean, School of Business Studies, IUST; Dr. Ruheela Hassan, Dean Outreach, Mr. Rais Ahmad Shapoo, District Employment and Career Counselling Officer, Pulwama; Mr. Shivam Mahajan, Innovation Hub Associate, IIM Srinagar; Dr. Aamir Hussain Dar, Head, CCCP, members of the CCCP Executive Committee and a large number of students from Schools of Business Studies and Engineering and Technology.

Addressing the participants, Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad Lone sensitised the youth about the growing importance of entrepreneurship and innovation in addressing societal challenges. He encouraged students to identify community problems and develop innovative solutions, highlighting Government support for young entrepreneurs from idea generation onwards.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Parvez A. Mir highlighted IUST’s initiatives through the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development (CIED) and other outreach programmes to promote innovation and entrepreneurship, underlining the University’s commitment to providing youth with platforms to develop their ideas and entrepreneurial skills. Mr. Rais Ahmad Shapoo apprised participants of the various schemes, funding avenues and support mechanisms available under Mission Yuva, encouraging students to leverage these opportunities to turn their ideas into viable ventures.

Speaking about IUST's outreach ecosystem, Dr. Ruheela Hassan, Dean Outreach, IUST, expressed appreciation to the District Administration for its continued collaboration in organising initiatives aimed at empowering youth. She reiterated IUST's commitment to making meaningful contributions to society and working closely with all stakeholders to create greater opportunities for youth and contribute towards building a better society.

Mr. Shivam Mahajan, Innovation Hub Associate, IIM Srinagar, conducted a detailed technical session on Udyam Jagriti 5.0, familiarizing students with the entrepreneurship awareness, mobilisation and grassroots outreach campaign launched under J&K Mission Yuva.
