Jammu State Movement Holds Peaceful Foot March from Jaggi Darbar to Janipur
Jammu Must Be Granted Separate Statehood — It Has Now Become a Necessity

Jammu, September 07 (KIP)-The Jammu State Movement today organized a peaceful foot march from Jaggi Darbar to Janipur, raising the democratic demand for separate statehood for Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, Arjun Singh, President, Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena and Convenor, Jammu State Movement, said that the people of Jammu have faced injustice for a very long time, particularly since 1947. He said that after the departure of Maharaja Hari Singh, which he described as having taken place under a conspiracy, the interests and aspirations of the people of Jammu have continued to be overlooked.
Arjun Singh said that the people of Jammu are feeling this pain more strongly today. He stated that repeated democratic efforts and appeals for separating Jammu have been made for years, but the demand has not received the desired response.
He appealed to the Central Government to listen to the people of Jammu just as the aspirations of the people of Ladakh were addressed. “If the people of Ladakh could be heard, the people of Jammu should also be heard. Jammu should be separated and granted full statehood,” he said.
He further said that Jammu has its own distinct history, identity, culture, aspirations and developmental needs, and deserves an administrative and political arrangement that reflects the interests of its people.
The march was attended by Senior Vice President Mangal Singh, Monu Baba, General Secretary (Sangathan Mantri) Naresh Singh, District Jammu President Jangvir Singh and Secretary Deep Kumar Sharma of the Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena.
Ex-Sarpanch Rajdev Singh also participated in the programme.
Representing Movement Kalki, Founder and Convenor, Jammu State Movement Deepak Singh, along with General Secretary (Protests & Events) Vikram Mahajan, Secretary Rajdev Singh, Advisor Pritam Sharma, Secretary & Accountant Raj Kumar and Sanyojak, Movement Kalki Environment Wing Anil Arora, among others, participated in the march.
The Jammu State Movement reiterated that its campaign for Jammu’s rights, identity, development and political justice will continue through peaceful, democratic and constitutional means.
