Government Polytechnic Jammu celebrated 10th International Day of Yoga


Jammu, June 21 (KIP)-Government Polytechnic Jammu celebrated 10th International Day of Yoga. The theme for International Yoga Day 2024 is "Yoga for Self and Society." This theme emphasizes the two-fold benefits of yoga practice: enhancing personal well-being and fostering a more positive and harmonious society. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Principal, Er. Arun Bangotra who was warmly welcomed by NSS Program officer Sh. Dheeraj Kumar and his team at the venue. The students and faculty of all the departments of the college were present in the yoga session which was conducted by Sh. Vinay Kumar instructor. All the Yoga Asanas and Pranayam which were performed was according to prescribed guidelines defined by Ayush deptt. Principal Er. Arun Bangotra, HOD Electrical Er. Manjeet Singh, HOD Civil Er. Sukhdeep Singh, HOD Computer/IT Smt. Rani Devi, HOD Instrumentation & Control Ms. Jasdeep Kour, Sports Secretary Sh Amit Sharma along with the students and staff performed the Yog asanas in the session.
Principal Er. Arun Bangotra while addressing the staff and students present in the Yoga session, emphasise the importance of yoga in the present day lifestyle which is causing many diseases like Hypertension, Sugar, Obesity and many other life consuming diseases. Student community is engrossed in the digital world with little or no attention to physical and mental well being. He stressed upon making it a regular practice to live a healthy life which will leads to strong physical and Mental health.
He appreciated the efforts of sports wing and NSS for organizing the event in a very smooth and organized manner.
