BJP leaders visit border refugee camps

demand strengthened relief measures for displaced families

Jammu, May 08 (KIP)-Amidst the continued cross-border shelling by Pakistan, senior BJP leaders paid a visit to the refugee camps established for residents of border areas forced to migrate for safety. The camps, set up at Degree College Mishriwala and Radha Swami Ashram in Kangrail, are currently sheltering people from villages like Garhkhaal and Pargwal, which have been heavily targeted.

Sat Sharma, President, J&K BJP, Sunil Sharma, Leader of Opposition, Jugal Kishore Sharma, MP (Lok Sabha), Sham Lal Sharma, Vice-President, J&K BJP & MLA, Mohan Lal Bhagat, MLA Akhnoor, Suraj Singh, DDC Vice-Chairperson, accompanied by many other senior leaders of BJP and government officials visited the Refugee Camps

Addressing the media and residents at the camp, Sat Sharma expressed deep concern over the targeting of civilians by Pakistan.

“As decisive retaliation to the brutal massacre of tourists in Pahalgam India effectively busted terrorists’ locations. In frustration, Pakistan has resorted to cowardly shelling of civilian areas. In this hour of crisis, our priority is the safety and well-being of our citizens”, said Sat Sharma.

Sharma said that approximately 300 individuals from around 70 families had been relocated to temporary shelters to protect them from the ongoing threat. He also called upon BJP workers to actively participate in relief and rescue operations, reaffirming the party’s commitment to stand with the people during difficult times.

Sunil Sharma echoed these sentiments and appealed to the administration to provide the best possible amenities to ease the hardships of the displaced. He underlined the need for maintaining consistent and adequate supplies like baby milk, medicines and other essentials as well as sanitary conditions in the camps.

Jugal Kishore Sharma commended the Indian armed forces for their effective response to the terrorist activities. “Under the decisive leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, our forces have shown the world the strength and resolve of Bharat. The dismantling of terrorist infrastructure is a clear message to those who threaten our peace,” he said.

Ravinder Raina, senior BJP leader visited Bajabai Camp and Kangri Camp in Nowshera Assembly Constituency and met the people shifted from LoC Meenaka Nahadev and Kalai Dubara (Seri) to these Camps and took stock of the arrangements made in these camps.



BJP leaders visit GMC Jammu to assess condition of injured civilians amid cross-border shelling
- Senior BJP leaders visited Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu, to meet the injured and assess the medical response being provided, amid ongoing cross-border shelling.

Sat Sharma, President, J&K BJP, Sunil Sharma, Leader of Opposition, Jugal Kishore Sharma, MP (Lok Sabha), accompanied by other BJP leaders visited Government Medical College, Jammu to inquire about the well-being of the injured in the ongoing shelling from across the borders.

They were accompanied by BJP Jammu District President Rajesh Gupta, along with party leaders Ravikant, Kushant Prajapati, and others.

During the visit, the leaders interacted with doctors, hospital staff, and family members of the injured civilians. They reviewed the medical facilities and inquired into the nature of injuries sustained in the shelling.

Expressing deep concern over the situation, Sat Sharma condemned the unprovoked shelling by Pakistan, labeling it a “cowardly act” deliberately targeting innocent civilians. The visit underlines the party's solidarity with the border residents and its unwavering commitment to national security and humanitarian response, he said.

"Many people have been injured and lives have been lost. It is not just the responsibility of the government, but also of civil administration and all political parties to ensure that the citizens of our country are protected from genocide, war crimes, ethnic cleansing, and crimes against humanity," said Sat Sharma. He further stressed the need to provide the best possible medical treatment to the injured, assuring that BJP stands with the victims and their families.

Sunil Sharma reiterated the importance of strengthening emergency healthcare infrastructure. “Every life is precious. Our hospitals must be well-equipped and ready to handle a sudden influx of casualties. Immediate care and proper stabilization must be ensured, not just for civilians but also for our brave security personnel,” he stated.

Jugal Kishore Sharma emphasized that the Modi government is committed to the safety and well-being of every citizen. He assured that all necessary steps are being taken to support those affected. He said that BJP would continue to work closely with local administration to facilitate relief, rehabilitation, and medical support for the victims.
