Congress observes Quit India Day, Karra launches and joins hunger strike

under Hamari Riyasat Hamara Haq” for Statehood

Srinagar, August 09 (KIP)-J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) on Saturday observed Quit India Day at Srinagar Party office and highlighted the supreme sacrifices of freedom fighters during the Quit India Movement led by Bapu.

JKPCC President Tariq Hameed Karra alongwith AICC General Secretary Ghulam Ahmad Mir and other senior party leaders led the observance of Quit India Day at Srinagar Party office and highlighted the significance of the event. They lauded the supreme sacrifices and selfless services of freedom fighters to achieve freedom from British colonial rule.

Karra said Mahatma Gandhi gave a do or die call during the Freedom Movement and carried forward his mission despite braving the brunt of barbarism of the British resulting in India achieved freedom.

In 1942 during the world war IInd , Britishers sought INC’s support in the actual fight, which was declined by the INC, but the Muslim League and Hindu Mahasabha supported them during the war against the stand taken by the INC (Indian National Congress), resulting in the Muslim League having achieved their goal to have their own country, but the Hindu Mahasabha supported Britishers to go into world war IInd along with them. RSS, BJP, VHP, Bajrang Dal are the descendants of the same Hindu Sabha which acted as paid agents and informers of the British, Karra said.

We must gear up to embark upon a similar do or die mission to save democracy, which is being ruined and assaulted on every single day by the BJP Govt to remain in power.

On this occasion, Karra screened Rahul Gandhi’s landmark press conference to expose the BJP ECI nexus in the electoral fraud and urged upon Party leaders and workers to highlight this nexus in nook and corner of J&K, so that people would know about the vote theft tactics by BJP. Vote Chori is an attack on democratic system of India, will not be tolerated, Congress Party under the leadership of Mallikarjun Kharge and LoP Rahul Gandhi will vigorously continue to fight against BJP-ECI nexus and vote theft in India by BJP.

Later, JKPCC President alongwith AICC Gen Secretary Ghulam Ahmad Mir and others senior leaders launched and joined hunger strike under the programme “Hamari Riyasat Hamara Haq” for the restoration of complete statehood to J&K.

Speaking on the occasion, JKPCC President said people of J&K have been facing an unprecedented situation since the degrading and bifurcation of J&K State. Despite promising to restore statehood at the floor of the Parliament, Centre Govt is delaying the process aiming to rule J&K directly, which has led to the disempowerment of people in every respect, The dual control system has ruined the progress of J&K. We will not rest till the rights of people are restored completely, Karra added.
