Police nabs 05 long term absconder in Baramulla, Awantipora

Srinagar, October 19 (KIP)-In a significant breakthrough, Police have apprehended 05 long term absconders in Baramulla and Awantipora.
In Baramulla, accused Noor Mohammad Gojri son of Abdul Rahman Gojri resident of Kunzer, was wanted in FIR No. 107/2003 U/S 366, 376 RPC of Police Station Kunzer. He had been absconding since 2008. Acting on credible intelligence, a dedicated police team from Police Station Kunzer traced and arrested the accused from Beerwah, Budgam during a late-night operation. The accused has been taken into custody, and further legal proceedings have been set in motion.

Meanwhile, Police in Awantipora received non-bailable warrants under section 299 CrPC/ 335 Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita issued by the Hon’ble Principal Session Court Pulwama against four absconders namely Yawar Manzoor Sofi son of Manzoor Ahmad Sofi resident of Namblabal Pampore, Muzamil Rasool Wagay son of Ghulam Rasool Wagay resident of Namblabal Pampore, Farooq Ahmad Mir son of Ghulam Nabi Mir resident of Drangbal Pampore and Mohammad Shafi Wani son of Ali Mohammad Wani resident of Kadlabal Pampore. The absconders were involved in different cases registered at Police Station Pampore.

Accordingly, a special team headed by SHO PS Pampore under the supervision of SDPO Pampore was constituted and the accused persons were arrested from different areas. Subsequently, the arrested accused were produced before the Hon’ble Court of Law.

J&K Police reiterates its firm resolve to bring absconders and fugitives to justice and ensure that no individual evading the law remains beyond its reach.
