UT Ladakh sends Sports Contingent for All India Forest Sports Meet 2025 at Dehra Dun, Uttarakhand

Leh/New Delhi,November 10 (KIP)-The Sports Contingent from Ladakh for participation in the 28th All India Forest Sports Meet (AIFSM) 2025 being held from 12–16 November 2025 in Dehradun, Uttarakhand was flagged off today at Ladakh Bhawan, New Delhi. The All India Forest Sports Meet (AIFSM) was first held in 1993 at Hyderabad and it has been covering a wide array of sports disciplines including athletics, archery, rifle-shooting, cycling, power and weight‐lifting, indoor and field games.
The Ladakh contingent, composed of 24 forest and wildlife frontline personnel from Leh and Kargil Districts, will compete in multiple events including Badminton (Single), Badminton (Double), Table Tennis (Single), Table Tennis (Doubles) Chess (Classic), Rifle Shooting, Archery, Football, 100 mt. Running,100 mt. veterans etc.
The flag-off ceremony held at Ladakh Bhawan, New Delhi was presided over by Shri. Rajesh S., IFS, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief Wildlife Warden, UT Ladakh, in the presence of the Dy Resident Commissioner, Ladakh Bhawan and senior officials of the Department of Forest, Ecology and Environment, Union Territory of Ladakh. The Additional PCCF in his message mentioned that “We are proud to send our team to the All India Forest Sports Meet 2025 in Uttarakhand. We wish our athletes the very best. May they uphold the spirit of Ladakh and strive for excellence on the national stage.”
At the ceremony, the flag-bearer of the Ladakh team was Shri. Deskyong Namgail, Range Officer, Khaltse Range, Leh District, and the Oath of sports-manship and teamwork was administered by Shri Vishal V. Surve, Dy Conservator of Forests (Headquarters) and Nodal Officer (AIFM).
The contingent will be arriving in Dehradun ahead of the competition to acclimatize and complete registration formalities. During the meet, the team will be supported and facilitated by accompanying officers from the Department of Forest, Ecology and Environment, Ladakh.
The contingent is expected not only to compete with full vigor but also to gain exposure to interaction with forest departmental personnel from across India. The participation of the Ladakh contingent reflects the Department of Forest, Ecology and Environment, UT Administration’s commitment to promoting sports and wellness among forest‐department officers and staff, in alignment with the national objective of AIFSM to encourage healthy lifestyles, team spirit and cross‐department interaction.
The Ladakh contingent will return after the conclusion of events on 16th November, 2025.
