Spiritual Nagar Kirtan marks observance of 359th Parkash Parv of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji in Poonch

Poonch, December 28 (KIP)- A vibrant and spiritually uplifting Nagar Kirtan was organized in Poonch to commemorate the 359th Parkash Parv of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the 10th Guru of Sikhism.

The grand procession commenced from Singh Sabha Gurdwara amid enthusiastic participation of a large number of devotees belonging to different sections of the society.

The Nagar Kirtan was marked by the sacred presence of the Saroop of Sahib Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, beautifully adorned and accompanied by the five beloved ones (Panj Pyaras). Youth showcased traditional Gatka and martial arts performances, adding fervor and spiritual energy to the procession.

President District Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (DGPC) Poonch, S. Narinder Singh addressed the sangat and highlighted the life, teachings and sacrifices of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji.

General Secretary DGPC Poonch, S. Harcharan Singh in his address reiterated the importance of Sikh history and the timeless teachings of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The congregation not only commemorated the Guru’s Parkash Parv but also strengthened communal harmony, unity and the spirit of seva among the people of Poonch. Joint Secretary DGPC Poonch, S. Gurcharan Singh and President AISSF, S. Paramjeet Singh also addressed the devotees, emphasizing the Guru’s message of courage, equality and righteousness.

DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range Tajinder Singh; Deputy Commissioner Ashok Kumar Sharma; SSP Shafaqat Hussain Bhat besides other civil and police functionaries were also present.

The District Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (DGPC) expressed sincere gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner and Senior Superintendent of Police for their participation and full support.

The Committee also hailed the support extended by individual departments including Motor Vehicle Department, Health Department, JPDCL, PHE, Fire & Emergency Services, Municipality and others for ensuring smooth and well-coordinated arrangements.

Preacher Amarjeet Singh from SGPC Amritsar delivered an enlightening discourse on the life history of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji and the rich legacy of Sikhism inspiring the sangat. Ragi Jathas led by Bhai Parvinder Singh, Bhai Sartaj Singh and other Ragi groups recited soulful Gurbani Kirtan throughout the procession.
