BJP will not allow Omar Government to evade Regularisation of Daily Wagers and Contractual Workers in J&K

Jammu, February 15 (KIP)-Senior BJP leader and State Secretary, Jammu & Kashmir, Pawan Sharma today issued a strong statement urging the Omar Abdullah-led Government to take immediate and decisive action on the long-pending demand for regularization of daily wagers and contractual workers across Jammu and Kashmir.
Sharma expressed serious concern over the continued delay, stating that the inaction has pushed thousands of workers and their families into deep financial distress, job insecurity, and prolonged emotional hardship. Many of these employees, he noted, have dedicated years—and in numerous cases decades—of sincere service to various government departments.
“These workers are not seeking charity; they are asserting their rightful claim to dignity, security, and justice,” Sharma stated.
He emphasized that the issue of regularization is long overdue and reflects a matter of fairness rather than administrative discretion.
“Daily wagers and contractual employees have spent the prime years of their lives serving the administration with dedication and commitment. Denying them job security despite their invaluable contribution is not only unjust but also inhumane,” Sharma asserted.
Highlighting the humanitarian dimension of the matter, Sharma stressed that the Government must move beyond bureaucratic delays and act with compassion, responsibility, and urgency.
“This is not merely an administrative issue—it is a humanitarian concern. The Government must uphold the rights and dignity of thousands of families living under constant uncertainty,” he added.
Sharma warned that continued neglect of this pressing demand risks deepening public resentment and eroding trust in governance.
He called upon the Omar Abdullah Government to:
Formulate a clear and time-bound policy for regularisation
Ensure transparency and fairness in implementation
Provide immediate interim relief measures until regularisation is completed
Reaffirming the BJP’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of workers, Sharma assured that the party will continue to raise this issue vigorously through all democratic and political platforms until justice is delivered.
“The BJP stands firmly with daily wagers and contractual employees. Their struggle is our concern, and their rights must be protected without further delay,” Sharma concluded.
