Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) successfully concluded in District Leh

Leh, February 27 (KIP)-The Three-Day State-Level Training & Capacity Building Programme on “Review & Implementation of Panchayat Development Plan (PDP)” under the Revamped Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) successfully concluded today in District Leh.

The programme was conducted from 27th to 27th February, 2026, with the objective of strengthening planning, review, and effective implementation of Panchayat Development Plans at the grassroots level.

The training programme was organized under the guidance of Syed Sajjad Qadri (JKAS), Director/SMD, Rural Development Department & Panchayati Raj, UT Ladakh. Aqeel Sajjad (JKAS), District Panchayat Officer and Nodal Officer for RGSA Capacity Building and Training, oversaw the smooth implementation of the programme.

The programme witnessed participation from Block Development Officers (BDOs), Panchayat Inspectors (PI), Panchayat Secretaries (PS), and Panchayat Accounts Assistants (PAA), reflecting a comprehensive approach toward strengthening institutional capacity across various tiers of Panchayati Raj Institutions.

Dr. Bilal Ahmad Mir, State Project Manager (SPM–RGSA), played a key role in planning and monitoring the programme. The training was closely monitored by DPM–RGSA, Stanzin Padma, along with the RGSA Leh team, who ensured timely uploading of participant details on the Training Management Portal.

The sessions focused on participatory and evidence-based planning, structured review of existing Panchayat Development Plans, convergence of schemes, efficient utilization of resources, and strengthening monitoring mechanisms to ensure effective service delivery and sustainable rural development.

The technical sessions were facilitated by Dr. Asif Ali, who provided expert guidance and practical insights to the participants throughout the programme.
The successful conclusion of the programme marks another significant milestone in strengthening Panchayati Raj Institutions and advancing grassroots governance in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
