CEO Ladakh Reviews Preparations for Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls

Leh, March 10 (KIP)-A meeting to review the preparations for the upcoming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the Union Territory of Ladakh was held today at the DC Conference Hall, Leh under the chairmanship of Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Ladakh, Rahul Sharma (IAS).

The meeting was attended by the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO)/Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Leh, Mukul Beniwal, IAS; Assistant Chief Electoral Officer, Delex Namgyal (JKAS); Dy. District Election Officer, Leh Ms. Padma Angmo,JKAS , Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO)/Tehsildar Leh; BLO Supervisors; and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) of Tehsil Leh.

During the meeting, the Chief Electoral Officer reviewed the present status of polling stations and took stock of various issues being faced at different polling stations. The concerns were presented by the AERO and were discussed in detail to ensure their timely resolution.

The CEO informed that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) is scheduled to commence in April and directed all concerned officials to remain fully prepared for the smooth conduct of the process. He also interacted with the BLOs regarding the verification of voters in their respective polling stations and instructed them to thoroughly check and update the electoral rolls.

Further, the BLOs were directed to facilitate the appointment of Booth Level Officer (BLO-2) in polling stations having more than 500 voters and to share the updated data with the AEROs.

The CEO also emphasized the need for adequate arrangements, including fast internet connectivity and the availability of printing machines, to ensure the smooth implementation of the revision process.

Discussions were also held on mapping of electors 2005 (Last SIR) with the latest Electoral Rolls and various field-level issues, while queries raised by the BLOs were clarified during the meeting.

The meeting concluded with directions to all concerned officials to work in close coordination to ensure the successful conduct of the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in the district.
