NC Calls for Immediate Restoration of Statehood to Jammu & Kashmir: Rattan Lal

Urges Centre to Table Bill of restoration of Statehood in Parliament

Jammu, March 16 (KIP)- Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Provincial President, Jammu Province, Rattan Lal Gupta today addressed a Youth National Conference workers’ meeting at Sher-e- Kashmir Bhavan in Jammu and reiterated the party’s strong demand for the immediate restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. He urged the Union Government to introduce and pass a bill in Parliament during the ongoing session to restore full statehood to the Jammu and Kashmir, stating that it is essential for strengthening democracy and ensuring accountable governance.



Addressing Youth National Conference workers and local leaders in a colorful function organized to facilitate, newly nominated Youth National Conference District President Jammu Rural “A” Mr Vikas Choudhary. Gupta said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have been waiting for the restoration of their democratic rights and an elected government with full powers. He emphasized that statehood is crucial for empowering elected representatives to take decisions on issues concerning the welfare, development and aspirations of the people.



Gupta stated that restoration of statehood would also play a vital role in improving the security and law and order situation in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that when governance is driven by representatives chosen by the people, coordination between the administration, security agencies and the public becomes more effective. This, he noted, helps in building trust, addressing local concerns promptly and strengthening peace and stability across the region.



Highlighting the developmental aspect, Gupta said that a full-fledged state government would be better positioned to accelerate development projects, strengthen infrastructure and generate employment opportunities for the youth. He cited the need for faster implementation of road connectivity projects, improved healthcare facilities, better educational infrastructure and enhanced support for agriculture and small businesses in both Jammu and Kashmir regions.



He added that restoration of statehood would ensure that local priorities receive the attention they deserve and development policies are shaped according to the unique needs of the region. Gupta said that empowering an elected government would help in addressing long-pending issues related to public services, urban development, tourism promotion and rural infrastructure.



Addressing the gathering Sardar Tejinder Pal Singh Aman Provincial President YNC Jammu said that the Omar led Govt is empowering the Youth to serve the people and play a vital role in the development of the region.



Calling upon party Youth National Conference workers to remain actively engaged with the people, Subash Chander Bhagat District President Jammu Rural “A” urged them to continue highlighting public issues at the grassroots level and strengthen the party’s outreach. He said that the National Conference has always stood for democratic values, peace and inclusive development in Jammu and Kashmir.
