IUST Hosts Alumni Entrepreneurs Conclave to Strengthen Alumni Engagement

Awantipora, March 30 (KIP)- The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) today organized its first-ever Alumni Entrepreneurs Meet under the University Alumni Connect initiative conducted under the aegis of Dean Outreach, marking a significant step towards strengthening structured engagement with its alumni community.
The event witnessed the participation of more than 30 alumni entrepreneurs from diverse sectors, reflecting the growing spirit of innovation and enterprise among IUST graduates. The Conclave is envisioned as a regular platform to expand and strengthen the University’s entrepreneurial alumni network.
In his inaugural address, Prof. A. H. Moon, Dean Academic Affairs, noted that such initiatives not only celebrate alumni achievements but also create pathways for mentorship, innovation, and industry collaboration, which are essential to inspire students and strengthen industry linkages. Welcoming the alumni, Dr. Hilal A. Makroo, Coordinator Alumni Connect, said, “This Alumni Entrepreneurs Meet marks an important step towards building a strong and engaged alumni ecosystem at IUST.” He added that the Meet aims to foster collaboration, mentorship, and knowledge sharing among alumni and the University.
The conclave also attended by deans and university officials also featured engaging sessions, including “Alumni Speaks,” where entrepreneurs shared their journeys, a panel discussion on innovation, startups, and industry collaboration, and interactive sessions with students. A visit to the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development (CIED) was also organized, providing participants an opportunity to engage with the University’s innovation ecosystem.
The Meet provided a vibrant platform for dialogue, networking, and knowledge exchange, with a focus on fostering mentorship opportunities, strengthening institutional identity, and building long-term, mutually beneficial relationships between the University and its alumni.
