DC Srinagar visits Hajj House Bemina, takes onsite inspection of arrangements for pilgrims

Srinagar, April 13 (KIP)- Ahead of the commencement of Hajj-26, Deputy Commissioner(DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo Saturday visited Hajj House Bemina to conduct an on the site inspection of preparations and arrangements for seamless departure of Hajj-2026 pilgrims.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mir Imtiyaz Ul Aziz, Joint Commissioner SMC, Nuzhat Khurshid, Additional CEO SCCL, Suhail ul Islam, SP West, Imtiyaz Ahmad, Chief Planning Officer, Fayaz Ahmad Dar, SDM West, Irfan Bahadur, LDM(Banks), Nilofer Jan, Tehsildar Shalteng, Rayees Ahmad and other Officers from Health, PHE, KPDCL, Hajj Committee and SMC.
During the visit, the DC carried out a comprehensive review of facilities and basic amenities available at the Hajj House, including accommodation, sanitation, medical facilities, parking space and transportation arrangements. He also inspected the cleanliness of lodging rooms and reviewed the availability of essential services such as water supply and uninterrupted electricity.
Emphasizing coordinated efforts, the DC directed all concerned departments to ensure the best possible arrangements focusing on their comfort, safety and convenience throughout the journey. He stressed upon maintaining proper hygiene, ensuring the availability of essential services and providing all necessary assistance so that pilgrims do not face any inconvenience.
The DC further instructed departments to work in close coordination and ensure all arrangements are finalized well in advance. He highlighted the importance of delivering efficient and meticulous services to pilgrims during their stay at the Hajj House and at the time of departure.
Earlier, the DC was briefed by CEO, Hajj House about the preparedness for facilitating a smooth and hassle-free experience for the pilgrims. It was informed that Hajj pilgrims are scheduled to begin their departure from April 18, 2026. A total of 4,764 pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir, including 1,159 from Srinagar district, will undertake the pilgrimage this year.
