Leh, May 04 (KIP)-The third day of public veneration of the Sacred Relics of Lord Buddha witnessed an overwhelming response, with a massive gathering of devotees assembling at Jivetsal to pay homage and seek blessings. Devotees from Sham Valley, including the Aryan Valley, participated in large numbers, reflecting deep faith and devotion among the people.
According to the Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA) Youth Wing, around 10,000 to 12,000 devotees visited Jivetsal on the third day to seek blessings from the holy relics of the Tathagata. From early morning till late evening, long queues of devotees were seen patiently waiting for their turn, highlighting the spiritual significance of the occasion.
The day’s veneration was marked by a special prayer ceremony conducted by venerable monks from Matho Monastery under the aegis of the Ladakh Gonpa Association. As part of the ongoing spiritual programme, monks from 16 major monasteries across Ladakh will continue to perform prayers on a rotational basis every day. The continuous chanting and rituals aim to spread peace and strengthen the spiritual bond of devotees with the teachings of Lord Buddha.
The event is being managed smoothly with the support of volunteers from the LBA Youth Wing, along with personnel from the Ladakh Police, ITBP, and UTDRE, who are assisting in crowd regulation and extending help to elderly and physically challenged devotees.
The Ladakh Buddhist Association, coordinating the programme, has also issued a village-wise schedule to ensure inclusive participation from all parts of Leh district. Organisers informed that all regions will be covered in a phased manner so that devotees from every area get equal opportunity to take part in the sacred veneration.
