No political pressure or influence should protect the accused. Law must act fairly and firmly

Jammu, May 26 (KIP)- The horrific incident involving the rape and murder of an 11-year-old innocent girl in Galwanpora, Budgam, is deeply painful and utterly condemnable. BJP spokesperson Rajni Sethi expressed her heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and stated that daughters do not belong to any single religion or community—they are the shared responsibility of the entire society.

She emphasized that no religion permits such heinous acts. This incident serves as a grave warning for all of us, forcing society to reflect on the direction in which we are heading. When a young girl is not safe even within her own neighborhood, and when the mindset of local youth deteriorates to such an extent, it raises serious questions about the moral fabric of our society. It is a matter that demands deep introspection at every level—family, community, and institutions.

Rajni Sethi further pointed out that the reported disrespect shown toward a religious scripture during the commission of the crime highlights the fact that the perpetrator neither understands humanity nor respects the core values of his own faith. Such actions demonstrate a complete erosion of moral and ethical boundaries, making it even more crucial for society to address these issues collectively.

She also appreciated the prompt action taken by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, who managed to solve the case and arrest the accused within just 36 hours. This swift response is commendable and reflects the efficiency and commitment of law enforcement agencies. However, she added that if any links of the accused with any political party are found, a fair and impartial investigation must be conducted.

If there is any attempt to exert political pressure, strict action must be taken against those responsible. While the police are performing their duties efficiently and deserve appreciation, it is extremely important that no political pressure or influence is allowed to dilute the investigation.

Any effort to interfere with the course of justice, whether directly or indirectly, must be dealt with firmly.

Justice must remain fair, transparent, and free from any external interference. Only then can we ensure that the victim, an innocent young girl, receives the justice she deserves.

Rajni Sethi urged the administration to ensure that those involved in this heinous crime are charged under the strictest provisions of the law. She called for the case to be heard in a fast-track court so that justice is delivered swiftly. Such decisive action is necessary to send a strong and unambiguous message across society that crimes against children will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

In addition to administrative action, she appealed to society at large to remain vigilant. Communities must take collective responsibility by observing the activities and behavior of individuals, especially youth, in their surroundings. Awareness and early intervention can play a crucial role in preventing such crimes.

She also stressed the importance of empowering young girls—not just through education, but by equipping them with awareness about personal safety and self-defense. Parents and guardians must ensure that children are confident, informed, and capable of protecting themselves to the extent possible.

In conclusion, Rajni Sethi stated that reacting after a crime has occurred is not enough. Preventive measures are equally, if not more, important. Both society and administration must work together proactively to create a safe environment for children. Only through collective effort, vigilance, and strict enforcement of law can we ensure that no such tragedy is repeated and no criminal dares to commit such an inhuman act again.
