The law and order situation appears to be deteriorating with each passing day, raising serious questions about the effectiveness of the agencies entrusted with maintaining peace and security. The safety and dignity of women must remain the highest priority of any government. The administration must wake up to the gravity of the situation and act decisively before public anger and concern grow further.

Buses, enhancement of marriage assistance from Rs 50,000 to Rs 75,000 for Poor families, provision of 200 units of free electricity per month for AAY households, doubling of the monthly ration quota from 5 Kg to 10 Kg per person for AAY beneficiaries, enhancement of Old age Pension/ Handicapped Pension/ Widow Pension from Rs 1000 to Rs 1500 above 60 to 80 years and Rs 2000 to aged more 80 years and above. Moreover Omar led Govt is committed to empower women folk in J&K.
Addressing the Convention Rattan Lal Gupta it is deeply unfortunate and disturbing that, as reported in various media reports, around 6 to 7 young girls and women have reportedly gone missing every month in District Kathua over the past year. This is a shocking situation that has created fear, anxiety, and insecurity among families, particularly among women and young girls.
Mr Gupta said that the continued disappearance of young women and the apparent failure to trace them promptly expose serious shortcomings in the functioning of the law enforcement machinery. The people of Kathua and the entire Jammu region deserve answers. Families of the missing girls have been running from pillar to post seeking justice, while the authorities appear to be maintaining a silence that is both troubling and unacceptable.
The administration and police cannot afford to remain mute spectators when such sensitive and serious incidents are taking place repeatedly. Every missing daughter is a matter of concern for society and the government. The failure to effectively investigate these cases not only erodes public confidence but also emboldens criminal elements.
The National Conference demands from LG administration a high-level, time-bound investigation into all reported cases of missing girls and women in Kathua district. The government must place the facts before the public, identify those responsible, and ensure that strict action is taken against anyone found involved in criminal activities. Special investigation teams should be constituted, and regular progress reports should be made public to restore confidence among the people. The people of Jammu and Kashmir deserve security, justice, and accountability, Mr. Gupta.
