CGPWA follows Dogri culture while felicitating its 7 members

Jammu, June 28 (KIP)- The Central Govt Pensioners’ Welfare Association, Jammu, took a new initiative to promote Dogri culture while undertaking its activities. One activity is to felicitate its members on their birthday falling that month. At this event held at a historic Dogra location, seven members—all wearing saffron-colored Dogri pagri with a royal motif—were felicitated on their birthdays at a special function held at the recently opened Royal Legacy restaurant in the historic Mubarak Mandi Complex.

The Chief Guest, Dr Ashok Bhan former DGP J&K & life Member of the CGPWA, also donned the same Dogri pagri. Other Office bearers were also wearing Dogri Pagri.

The birthday veterans were Nisar Ahmed, IPS (R), Rajinder Gupta, IPS(R), Dr. Vijeshwar Verma, CSIR(R), Dr. Sardari Lal, DIG, DIG, BSF (R), J.L. Sharma, IPS (R), B.D. Thapa, GSI(R), Dr. S.C. Uppal, GSI(R) and Jit Raj, NIC(R). Wearing Dogra Pagri they wish to popularize Dogri culture.

Dr Ashok Bhan and Dr Sudharshan Kumar, Vice President CGPWA & former DG DRDA, also wearing Dogri Pagri, presented them roses as a mark of love, respect, and good wishes.

A Dogri lunch was arranged which the senior citizens appreciated. They also collectively cut the ceremonial cake to celebrate the happy occasion in the presence of about 40 members who wished them a long and healthy life in the year ahead.
