Samba, June 28 (KIP)=The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) on Sunday launched a blistering attack on the BJP-led Central Government over the recurring leakage of question papers in NEET and several other competitive examinations, accusing it of failing to protect the interests of students and educated unemployed youth.
The party alleged that repeated examination scandals have shattered the confidence of millions of aspirants and demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, holding him morally responsible for what it described as the collapse of the country's examination system.
The Congress leaders asserted that the party would continue its nationwide campaign until a transparent, credible and corruption-free examination system is established to safeguard the future of students.
The allegations were made during a public meeting organised by District Congress Committee (DCC) Samba President Sanjeev Sharma, which witnessed the participation of Sarpanches, Panches, students, youth and Congress workers from different parts of the district.
The meeting was addressed by AICC Secretary Pargat Singh, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee Working President and former Minister Raman Bhalla, former MLA and Samba District Observer Indu Pawar, and former Minister Yash Pal Kundal, all of whom criticised the Centre over repeated examination controversies and alleged administrative failures.
Addressing the gathering, Pargat Singh said the recurring leakage of question papers in NEET and other national-level examinations has exposed serious shortcomings in the government's ability to conduct fair and credible examinations.
He alleged that repeated paper leak incidents have destroyed the hopes of lakhs of deserving students and increased uncertainty among educated unemployed youth preparing for government jobs and professional courses.
He said students invest years of hard work, money and sacrifice in preparing for competitive examinations, but their efforts are repeatedly undermined by alleged paper leak mafias and administrative failures. Singh demanded that Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan accept moral responsibility for the repeated failures and step down from office.
"The future of millions of students cannot be compromised because of government negligence. The Congress will continue to raise the voice of students inside and outside Parliament until accountability is fixed and justice is delivered," he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Raman Bhalla accused the BJP government of betraying the aspirations of the country's youth by failing to ensure a secure and transparent examination system.
He said repeated leaks of NEET and other examination papers have severely eroded public confidence in the country's recruitment and admission process. "The BJP government has failed to protect the interests of students and educated unemployed youth. Every paper leak robs deserving candidates of opportunities they have earned through years of dedication and hard work," Bhalla said.
He reiterated the Congress demand for the removal of the Union Education Minister, alleging that the repeated examination scandals reflected a complete breakdown of accountability within the education system.
Former MLA Indu Pawar said repeated examination controversies have imposed an enormous financial, emotional and psychological burden on students and their families. She called for comprehensive reforms in the examination system, stronger safeguards against paper leaks and strict punishment for those involved in examination malpractice.
Former Minister Yash Pal Kundal said the future of India's youth cannot be sacrificed because of administrative failures and institutional negligence. He demanded transparent investigations into all examination paper leak cases, stringent action against those responsible and structural reforms to restore the credibility of national examinations.
The Congress leaders maintained that education must remain free from corruption, political interference and institutional failures. They reiterated their commitment to protecting the interests of students and educated unemployed youth and pledged to intensify their campaign until the integrity of competitive examinations is fully restored.
Among those who addressed the gathering were Babal Gupta, Vinod Kumar, Chairman of the SC Department, Rajani Devi, President of Mahila Congress, Baba Choudhary, Dinesh Singh, Subash Singh, Block President, Samba, Raj Khajuria, Block President, Ghagwal, Partap Singh Nud, Block President, Advocate Satish Dutta, Jangbir Singh and Harish Sambyal, besides several senior Congress leaders and party workers.
The programme concluded with Congress leaders and workers taking a collective pledge to continue their struggle for the rights of students and educated unemployed youth while pressing for a transparent, accountable, and merit-based examination system. They vowed to intensify their campaign until those responsible for repeated examination irregularities are held accountable and the confidence of students in the country's education and recruitment system is restored.
