DIET Leh Hosts Interaction with Mr. Christopher Jolly

Leh, Ladakh, July 03 (KIP)-The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Leh, organised a special interaction programme with Mr. Christopher John Howard Jolly, OBE, Chairman of Jolly Learning Ltd. and the visionary pioneer behind the globally acclaimed Jolly Phonics programme. The programme was also graced by the presence of Ms. Shainaz Jussa, Delivery Partner of the Ladakh Jolly Phonics Project,
and Ms. Joe, representative from Jolly Learning Ltd.

The distinguished guests were accorded a warm welcome by the DIET fraternity and were felicitated with traditional Khataks, symbolising Ladakh’s rich culture and hospitality. The programme was attended by Shri S. D. Namgail, Principal, DIET Leh, Heads of Departments, faculty members, and educators from across the district.

The occasion highlighted the significance of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Leh, and Jolly Learning Ltd., which seeks to strengthen foundational literacy, enhance teacher capacity, and improve English language learning among children in Ladakh through the implementation of the Jolly Phonics programme.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Christopher Jolly spoke about the transformative power of literacy and emphasised the crucial role of teachers in nurturing young minds. He appreciated the dedication and enthusiasm of the teaching community in Ladakh and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting literacy initiatives in the region.
