Pawan Sharma Condemns Glorification of Terrorists

Jammu, July 05 (KIP)-BJP Jammu & Kashmir State Secretary Pawan Sharma has strongly condemned the inclusion of a controversial book in government school libraries that allegedly glorifies terrorists and separatist leaders who worked against the sovereignty, unity, and integrity of India.
Expressing grave concern over the matter, Sharma said that Jammu & Kashmir has witnessed a remarkable transformation in recent years. The Union Territory is steadily progressing on the path of peace, stability, development, and good governance. However, certain anti-national elements continue to make desperate attempts to revive the failed narratives of separatism, extremism, and instability.
"The people of Jammu & Kashmir have overwhelmingly rejected the politics of separatism and violence. Those who seek to poison young minds by glorifying individuals who challenged the Constitution of India and encouraged divisive ideologies are working against the interests of the nation and future generations," Sharma said.
He termed the presence of such material in educational institutions as a serious breach of responsibility and questioned how content portraying separatist figures in a favorable light found its way into government school libraries.
Pawan Sharma demanded a comprehensive high-level inquiry to identify all individuals involved in the selection, approval, procurement, and distribution of the book. He asserted that accountability must be fixed at every level and that strict action should be taken against anyone found responsible.
"Our schools must serve as centres of knowledge, patriotism, constitutional values, and national integration. Any attempt to use the education system as a vehicle for promoting anti-national narratives must be firmly resisted and dealt with in accordance with the law," he added.
Sharma further stated that the incident appears to be part of a larger effort by vested interests to undermine the atmosphere of peace and normalcy that has emerged in Jammu & Kashmir. He emphasized that such conspiracies will not succeed, as the people of the region stand firmly with the nation and support the vision of a peaceful, prosperous, and united Jammu & Kashmir.
The BJP leader urged the administration to immediately ensure the removal of all such objectionable material from educational institutions and take effective measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Pawan Sharma reaffirmed the BJP’s steadfast commitment to safeguarding national interests, upholding constitutional values, and fostering peace, unity, and development in Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized the party’s resolve to protect the younger generation from divisive narratives, radical influences, and extremist propaganda, while empowering them to contribute positively to nation-building and the progress of the Union Territory.
