Vikram Randhawa hears public grievances
calls for urgent flood preparedness and swift civic action

Jammu, July 22 (KIP)-Ch. Vikram Randhawa, MLA and senior BJP leader, conducted a public grievance redressal camp at the BJP headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, where he patiently heard the concerns of numerous individuals and deputations from different parts of the city and assured them of prompt intervention for the resolution of their genuine grievances.
The grievance camp was coordinated by Er. Dil Bahadur Singh Jamwal, Incharge, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, and Er. T.K. Sharma, Co-Convenor of the Abhiyan, who ensured the smooth conduct of the programme.
A deputation from Sector-5, Trikuta Nagar sought the repair of defunct street lights, while residents of Nanak Nagar raised issues concerning land possession. A deputation from Basant Vihar demanded the construction of lanes and drains, whereas deputations from Last Morh, Gandhi Nagar, Nanak Nagar and Gangyal highlighted the persistent problem of erratic drinking water supply. Another deputation from Nanak Nagar requested the construction and upgradation of a government high school building. Representatives of e-bus operators also apprised Randhawa of issues affecting their operations. A deputation from Gandhi Nagar demanded the utilization of the borewell in front of Vishal Mega Mart, while members of the Rehri-Farhi Union near Vaishno Dham, Railway Station, expressed concern over the dismantling of their vending site, which serves as the only source of livelihood for many families. Residents of Gangyal Garden also sought the immediate clearance of a deep drain to prevent waterlogging.
Taking serious note of the issues, Randhawa immediately contacted the concerned departmental officers and urged them to resolve the genuine grievances without delay. He assured the visiting deputations that the BJP remains committed to safeguarding public interests and ensuring effective follow-up with the administration.
Expressing concern over the ongoing monsoon season, Randhawa called upon the administration to adopt a proactive approach towards flood management. He urged the concerned departments to immediately strengthen vulnerable embankments of nallahs, carry out desilting operations, clear blocked drains and water channels, and ensure the smooth flow of rainwater. "Preparedness before disaster is the need of the hour. Timely preventive measures can protect lives, property and public infrastructure while minimizing hardships during heavy rains," he said.
Er. Dil Bahadur Singh Jamwal said that the BJP's regular grievance camps have become an effective bridge between the people and the administration, ensuring that public issues receive timely attention.
Er. T.K. Sharma added that every grievance received during the camp will be pursued with the concerned departments until its logical resolution.
