Director, Sheep Husbandry Department Visits Pashmina Dehairing Plant at Leh

Leh, July 29 (KIP)-Director, Sheep Husbandry Department, UT Ladakh, Dr. Iftikhar Hussain, today visited the Pashmina Dehairing Plant, Leh, along with Dr. Tsewang Morup, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Leh, to review the functioning of the plant and inspect the ongoing construction works.
During the visit, the Director inspected the scouring, willowing and dehairing sections of the plant and reviewed the processing activities. Dr. Changchuk Dorjey briefed him about the ongoing work and informed that around 300 kg of raw Pashmina has been dehaired so far, while approximately 10,500 kg of raw Pashmina received from the Changthang region and other areas of Leh district has been brought to the plant for processing.
The Director also inspected the ongoing construction works at the plant and reviewed the progress of the project. He directed the concerned officials to complete the work within the stipulated time frame while maintaining the required quality standards.
He also interacted with the officers and staff present at the plant, appreciated their efforts, and reviewed the overall functioning of the facility.
