EC Er. Phunchok Tashi Chairs Review Meeting on Restoration of in Flash Flood
Affected Areas of Kargil

Kargil, August 07 (KIP)-Executive Councillor, LAHDC Kargil, Er. Phunchok Tashi, chaired a review meeting to assess the progress of restoration works in flash flood-affected villages across Kargil district, with a special focus on damaged irrigation canals (kuls) being executed through RDD Kargil.
The meeting was attended by Executive Councillor Altaf Hussain, Councillor Poyen Mohd Amin, Councillor Silmo Constituency Feroz Khan, Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Kargil, Assistant Engineer REW/RDD, and Block Development Officers (BDOs) from Kargil, Sankoo, Sodh, Barsoo and Chiktan blocks.
During the meeting, the BDOs presented block-wise reports detailing the damage caused to irrigation canals and footpath the current status of restoration works, the number of canals already restored, and the progress of ongoing restoration activities.
Reviewing the restoration efforts, Executive Councillor Er. Phunchok Tashi directed all concerned officials to expedite the clearance of debris and ensure the early restoration of irrigation canals so that irrigation water to agricultural fields resumes without further delay. He also instructed the officials to work in close coordination with the concerned Councillors, local representatives, and village communities to ensure the smooth and timely execution of community-based restoration works.
Executive Councillors, Er. Phunchok Tashi and Altaf Hussain appreciated the dedicated efforts of all concern Department and field staff engaged in the restoration works under challenging circumstances. They further urged the concerned departments to expedite relief measures and ensure the prompt restoration of all essential public services in the affected areas.
