Guru Ravidass preached equality, humanity, and universal brotherhood: Baldev

Jammu, August 07 (KIP)-BJP General Secretary and former Deputy Mayor Baldev Singh Billawaria said that Guru Ravidass was a great reformer whose timeless teachings of equality, humanity, social justice and universal brotherhood continue to guide society towards peace and harmony. He said Guru Ravidass dedicated his life to eradicating discrimination based on caste, creed and social status, inspiring people to embrace compassion, dignity and mutual respect.

He said this while releasing a Hindi poem “Amrit Vachan Ravidass Ke” composed by party spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan. Billawaria was accompanied by J&K BJP Media Incharge Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, Social Media Incharge Dr. Makson Tickoo, Spokesperson Dr. Hari Dutt Shishu, Health & Medical Cell Co-convenor Pooja Grover, Kissan Morcha Special Invitee Satish Shastri and District Secretary Ranjit Singh.

He said that the saint envisioned an ideal society where every individual enjoys equal rights, opportunities and respect. His concept of Begampura, a city free from sorrow, injustice and inequality, remains relevant even today and serves as a guiding philosophy for building an inclusive and progressive nation.

Baldev said that Guru Ravidass always emphasised that a person's worth is determined by character, noble deeds and devotion rather than birth or social background. Through his simple yet profound teachings, Guru Ravidass opposed social evils and encouraged people to rise above divisions and work together for the welfare of humanity.

He further said that the life and message of Guru Ravidass inspire people to adopt the values of honesty, humility, hard work and selfless service. These ideals, he said, are essential for strengthening social unity and national integration in present times.

Highlighting the significance of preserving the saint's legacy, Baldev appreciated the efforts being made across the country to spread Guru Ravidass Ji's teachings among the younger generation. He said the observance of the 650th birth anniversary of Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj by BJP provides a valuable opportunity to reaffirm commitment to the ideals of social harmony and equality.

Baldev also welcomed various initiatives aimed at promoting awareness about Guru Ravidass Ji's life and philosophy. He said such efforts will help inspire society to reject discrimination and embrace the principles of justice, fraternity and peaceful coexistence.

Calling upon people to adopt the teachings of the great saint in their daily lives, Baldev urged them to work collectively for an India where every individual is treated with dignity and respect, irrespective of caste, religion or economic status. He said that following Guru Ravidass Ji's path of love, equality and universal brotherhood is the true tribute to the revered saint and the surest way to build a stronger, more compassionate and harmonious society.
